In Potlotek First Nation, Nova Scotia, Terry Denny is bringing an old tradition back to his people. The tradition of making hockey sticks goes back to time immemorial when the Mi’kmaw nation perfected the design of the stick and sold thousands to companies across Canada and even to a fledgling NHL league. Terry takes John through the process of hand crafting this unique piece of sports equipment and even try’s them out in a little game with the youth.

In the Good Game series, former NHLer John Chabot, a native of Kitigan Zibi reserve in Quebec, travels the country to understand the place that hockey holds in the collective life of Canada’s Indigenous peoples
