The Little Native Hockey League, known as the Little NHL is the largest Indigenous hockey tournament in Ontario. The tournament is a gathering place for communities across the province, where they can compete, have fun, and form friendships. Kendra Madahbee from Wikwemikong First Nation and former NHL’er Reggie “The Rifle” Leach have pulled together an all-girl team to come learn, grow, and participate in this legendary event.
In the Good Game series, former NHLer John Chabot, a native of Kitigan Zibi reserve in Quebec, travels the country to understand the place that hockey holds in the collective life of Canada’s Indigenous peoples.
