In Mississauga, Ontario, Drew visits Sawmill Sid, a mill that repurposes surplus urban wood. Métis Sidney Gendron, carver and wood artist, creates varied works of art from this surplus wood, reminding people of the area’s indigenous past through monumental art.

At the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Qaumajuq, the world's largest display of contemporary Inuit art, represents 150 years of culture from several dozen northern communities. Drew talks with Inuit carver Goota Asoona who creates whalebone carvings.

Wayne Stranger from the Peguis First Nation creates bronze sculptures inspired by his Indigenous culture. He has created works that immortalized intense aspects of the Sundance ceremony, and he also sculpts ice. Art is one of the most powerful tools we have to communicate ideas.
