For thousands of years, Indigenous people have used nature's bounty to hunt and forage, and some  who have lost touch with traditional survival skills are reclaiming them and revitalizing their culture. Drew has a bushcraft dinner with Caleb Musgrave, an Anishinaabe man who runs Canadian Bushcraft, finding and sunchoke roots, wild leeks, and duck.

Bruce Nielsen, a Manitoba Métis hunter, prepares a bountiful all-natural beaver and muskrat meal using what he has collected in his wilderness surroundings. Nature is the best supermarket.

The lost tradition of living off the sea and rivers is also being rediscovered. On Cape Breton Island Drew meets Mi’kmaq Danny Paul who practices sustainable fishing – spearfishing for salmon at night on the Margaree River. They take only what they need to feed their community and Danny is passing his knowledge on to his sons.
