A satellite image reveals the remains of an old shipwreck near a remote South Pacific island, Nikumaroro. In Lake Huron another decomposing shipwreck can be seen from above, one of the many victims of battles, accidents, or extreme weather events in the Great Lakes. What caused the famous sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald is still not known. Sunken shoals created over 900 shipwrecks in the Great Barrier Reef area. SONAR images map craters and the wrecks of military ships in a lagoon on the Bikini Atoll, target practice for testing nuclear weapons in 1946.
