They are frustrated. They are angry. They are going broke. They are parents who insist governments must do more to provide treatment for their autistic children. With an estimated 33,000 children afflicted with autism in Canada, the number of affected families is growing. According to Statistics Canada, autism diagnoses just keep going up. The more the numbers increase, the longer the waiting lists. Without prompt funding, families are left to struggle and face the burden alone.
