The macarons end up causing odd emotional changes in her friends: Bailey becomes overly competitive, Tilly unusually sad, and Finley surprisingly decisive. Cocoa suggests that plain macarons might reverse the effects. Cherie bakes a batch of simple macarons, and after everyone eats them, the horsepals return to their normal selves.
