The title “Indian Time” is an attempt to turn the stereotypical expression “being late” on its head and present the vision of a relationship with time, territories, people and objects that is truly unique to Indigenous people, plunging viewers into this “Indian time” with their eyes and hearts.

Filmed over a period of five years in 18 communities, “Indian Time” paints a personal and contemporary portrait of the 11 Indigenous nations of Quebec. Forty First Nations and Inuit people take the floor in turn, sharing slices of life and major social, cultural and territorial issues, all presented from an Indigenous perspective. These exceptional encounters immerse viewers in this ‘Indian time’ with their eyes and hearts. This beautiful film, made over five years, shares a sense of hope and demolishes prejudices.
