Brigitte Lacasse directs her first film: a poetic and autobiographical documentary essay in which the multidisciplinary artist continues her reflection on health care, which began in 2007 with her performance La Femme Saran'wrap. After questioning the feeling of disappropriation in the face of the medical system, she now focuses on the patient's experience and the subjectivity of the caregiver or patient who relates it. She then delved into her own history and that of her family, marked by the disease. Through family archives, diaries, medical records, drawings, animations, and performances, she takes an intimate and critical look at Quebec's health and social services system, and other care practices used by the population. The result is a cinematic quilt that oscillates between drama and self-mockery.
Film is in French with English subtitles.
