South America is one of the smaller continents and consists of twelve independent states. In this film, we will be looking at the nature, climate, history, population and resources of this continent. We will also be going on a tour, visiting some of the countries in South America. For example, we will be looking at the ruined city of Machu Picchu and diving into the ocean around the Galápagos Islands. Did you know that the most species-rich places in the world are to be found here? Or that it rains so little in the Atacama Desert that the rainfall cannot even be measured.
