Kahnawake and Kanehsata:ke, two Mohawk communities located in Quebec, have been providing Mohawk immersion programs within their communities for a number of years. This episode looks at the students who attended these programs and how the Mohawk language, Kanien’kéha, plays a role in their lives. It was a series of circumstances, both social and political, that led the communities of Kahnawake and Kanehsata:ke to take strides in reclaiming the Mohawk language.
