The poetry film, "In Good Hands" is a Métis woman's expression of birth sovereignty, punctuated by intimate experiences of motherhood. Writer/director Vanda Fleury is a Métis poetry-film and photovoice artist based in Winnipeg, Manitoba and it is through art and writing that she locates her voice and expresses her individuality. She weaves storywork with memories, cultural knowledge, and documentary heritage. Vanda’s children and the stories of her ancestors are enduring sources of creative motivation.
