This film is a follow up to the 1988 documentary "The World is Watching". Fifteen years later the same director and producer follow some of the same journalists into Nicaragua to explore what happened after the international media attention faded. They discover a country of desperate poverty and political corruption, with some reconciliation among the former Sandinista and contra fighters, unreported by the international press, which is preoccupied with other stories around the world. In some cases, they are the first international journalists that many of the Nicaraguans have seen since the 1990 elections.
