In northern Ontario, the village of Val Gagné was facing an exodus as young people left for education and jobs elsewhere. Farms were abandoned, and the school and grocery store closed. But a wind of renewal gives hope to these Franco-Ontarian villagers. In 2016, conservative Mennonite families began moving from southern Ontario into the Val Gagné area, buying the neglected farms, restoring the land for agriculture, and building a strong religious community. Their hard work is also allowing the Franco-Ontarians to keep their church open, maintain their community, and keep French culture alive here in the north.
Film is narrated in French with English subtitles.
