The oldest covered market in Canada still brings together fisherman, farmers, bakers and butchers under one roof. Sitting in the centre of Saint John's historic district, the old market is quite literally the heart and soul of the New Brunswick port city. The centre aisle of the market is in fact a real street, which the building straddles. Supermarkets and malls may come and go, but for the people of Saint John there is only one place to meet and greet friends or simply people watch.
