Six Nations of the Grand River Territory
In this interview, Richard Hill shares the traditional environmental teachings of the wampum “Dish with One Spoon”: take only what you need, leave something for others, and keep the dish clean. The “Two Row Wampum Treaty represents an agreement of peaceful co-existence between Haudenosaunee and the Dutch. It is also known as the Covenant Chain of Peace. Richard and others are working with museums to get historic wampum belts returned to their home communities.
