We look at what a treasure the Hauraki Gulf is, how unique and bio-diverse it is and how abundant it once was. On the doorstep of Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, it is a playground for many. But it is in trouble – in fact in trophic collapse. With so many grim reports, why has so little actually been done?

An engaging feature length documentary series that looks at the degradation of New Zealand’s most populous harbour - the Hauraki Gulf – New Zealand’s only marine park and explores what steps can be taken to save it from the brink of collapse both in terms of sea life and pollution. One solution may be going back to sustainable indigenous Maori fishing methods.
